MSP Partner Robert T. Monroe recently obtained summary judgment on behalf of a motorcycle dealership in Douglas County, in a case in which the plaintiff claimed that the dealership negligently repaired his motorcycle, resulting in personal injuries. The court dismissed the case after finding that the plaintiff had failed to establish proof of negligent repairs. The case is Speach v. Lithia Springs Motorcycles, Inc., Douglas Superior Court, Civil Action File No.15-CV-0434.

Heart of the Community board member (and MSP associate attorney) Chris R. Jackson, and Chairman, Harry Brock, and EMS Representatives Marty Robinson and Brady Rogers present an AED Defibrillator machine to Cave Spring Fire Chief Randy Lacey. The Heart of the Community Board provides these life-saving AED defibrillator units to public agencies in Rome and Floyd county who don’t otherwise have access to such a tool.

9-16-16 Matthews' Retirement

Recently retired Judge, Walter J. Matthews stands with MSP’s own Chris R. Jackson, President of the Rome Bar Association, as he presents a donation from the Rome Bar to representatives of Boy Scout Troop #34 in honor of Judge Matthews’ retirement from the Superior Court of Floyd County after 28 years of service. Before taking the bench, Judge Matthews was a partner at McRae, Smith, Peek.

MSP partners Brian Bojo and Virginia Harman gave presentations on major case law developments and the use of partnerships and other flow through business entities at the 12th Annual Conservation Easement Workshop hosted by the Madison-Morgan Conservancy and Georgia-Alabama Land Trust hosted at historic and beautiful Burge Plantation near Mansfield, Georgia last week.
